Meet Cara, an adorable 3-year-old, 82-pound girl with a heart of gold. Cara is a rescue dog who came to us as a stray and was in a terrible matted condition. But after a much-needed spa day, Cara is now ready to go to her forever home. She is a bundle of joy and is always happy to see people. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and she never fails to greet us with a wagging tail and a big smile.
Cara loves to play and has a particular fondness for chasing after the ball. However, she's not much of a retriever and prefers to keep the ball to herself. She's also quite the character and loves to wiggle around before settling down. Once she gets her initial wiggles out, she walks okay on a leash, but she likes to stay close to her human.
Cara is treat-motivated and loves to eat. She never misses a meal and is always eager to get her paws on some tasty treats. She is looking for a family that can provide her with the love and attention she deserves. Her spunky and silly demeanor is sure to bring lots of fun and love to your home.

Thank you for looking at dogs from the Guernsey County Dog Warden Dept. We are a county run facility in Cambridge, OH, we are NOT a no kill shelter! Unfortunately, we must euthanize due to illness or aggression. Adoption fees are $165 for dogs under 5 years old, $100 for dogs over 5 years old and $200 for cell dogs. Adoption fees include, Vaccine (DHPP), Bordetella, Microchip, Heartworm and Lyme testing, Rabies vaccine, Spay/Neuter and a dog license. Dogs will be required to be spayed/neutered before leaving shelter, if not an appointment will be scheduled before leaving the shelter. Please talk to shelter staff for more information.
We only accept cash. We cannot take checks, debit or credit cards. You may also call the shelter: Office hours are Tuesday-Saturday 9am-5pm. Shelter public hours for visitation are Tuesday-Saturday 11am-4pm. Applications can be emailed or faxed if requested. If coming from out of town, please call ahead to make sure the dog is still available. Approved rescues also welcome!!!!
