Meet Candy Stripe - local gal
**Please read Candy Stripe's entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application at the end. Thank you!**
Meet Candy Stripe - a beautiful 2.5 year old, Shepherd / Mountain Cur mix, who weighs 35 pounds (as of 10/22/24). Candy Stripe entered our care at the rescue when she was pregnant. She had her puppies while in foster care and has been a great momma! All of her babies have been adopted, and now it's her turn to find her forever family. She spent some extra time with us because the sweet girl had to be treated for heart worm, but we're happy to report she's happy and healthy and doing great!
Her new foster mom shares "Candy Stripe is a very affectionate and friendly gal. She loves to play tug of war and get cuddle on the couch. Candy has a lot of energy and loves to play. She does great on walks and barely pulls on her leash. Her tail is always wagging. She does great in the crate overnight and when she is left alone in the house. She loves people, especially children. She would love to be part of a home that's filled with people and energy! She gets along great with other dogs - we've learned that she tends to prefer males, and does fine with females with a slow intro. She is also fully housebroken. She is nothing but pure love and joy and deserves a family who will show her all of that love in return!"
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.
To adopt or learn more about Candy Stripe, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $495] **
PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.
Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. To learn more about our *shelterless* rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website at WWW.GDRNE.COM.
