Candy Apple Terrier Mix Wilder, VT

Meet Apple! Apple is a 5-6 month old spayed 17lb little girl looking for her forever home. Apple came to Vermont in early December and has done really well in her foster home. She came to us with a lot to learn. While she has blossomed in her foster home, she does revert back to being afraid if she gets into new situations without the people she trusts. As such. She will need to meet her new people several times and have some positive interactions with them before she will be ready to move home permanently. She will require some patience but with the right fit and patience, she will find her forever home.

Apple is from the island of St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands. She was dumped at the local island rescue along with her siblings and any prior history is unknown.
Apple is house trained, knows “sit”, has become a very outgoing a loving snuggle bug with those that she knows and trusts and is. Race to meet new people when she is within her circle of trust. Her adopters will need to earn a spot inside her circle.

She still needs leash work and of course a family willing to raise her and teach her how to be her best self. Apple is good with other dogs and will do best in a home with another dog that can be her mentor. She is good with kids, but maybe not cats unless they are already dog savvy.
