Cam - adopted! Shepherd Mix Minneapolis, MN

This handsome boy is Cam, a 7-month-old shepherd mix. He is a pocket-sized bundle of fun weighing in at only 25 lbs. We think his adult weight will reach 40 lbs, making him the perfect size to take on any family adventure.

Cam is a friendly, inquisitive boy who just discovered the joy of playing in the water and he is all in! He adores the wading pool at his foster home and would be thrilled to join a family with access to a lake or pool. He’s loyal to his people and loves to learn - training will be a breeze. He also loves toys of any flavor, especially balls (he is starting to really “get” fetch).

With medium energy, he will be a perfect companion for a person or family that wants to enjoy a nice active life all year round. Daily walks will keep him healthy and happy. In the summer, he would love to accompany his people to a nearby lake or stream and splash around. In winter, he is ready to help build a snowman or blaze a trail while his people snowshoe.

The perfect fit for Cam has elementary-aged kids and older and could have another friendly canine in the home. He is persistent when he wants to play: older, non-interactive dogs are not the best fit. Cam could be an only dog if he gets play dates with other pups to keep up his “chase or be chased” skills. Cats are probably ok as long as he is kept busy and doesn’t put all his energy into convincing the kitty to engage.

Cam is learning lots of life skills in rescue: how to relax in his crate, walk on leash, and keep four feet on the floor when he gets to meet new human friends. He is reliably housebroken when loose in portions of the house but would forget his manners if roaming a big house without restriction. A fenced yard would be heaven, and families with a history of keeping dogs safe on leash would be a good fit too.

The lucky family that adopts Cam will find themselves laughing at his silly antics every day. There’s a lot of love in this little guy and he can’t wait to find his forever family!

As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Cam's adoption fee is $400 + MN sales tax. He is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines.
