Cali is estimated to be a terrier mix, who is 7-8 years old. She came to us from an owner who could no longer care for her. She lived with 2 other small dogs there, and a cat for about a year.

Cali is more of an independent girl in her foster home. She likes to go outside in the fenced yard and explore a bit. She doesn't always like to be picked up, and when you do, she does best if she fully realizes it's coming versus anything being a surprise.

Cali is pretty quiet in her current foster home - we tried her with a foster that lived in an apartment and she whined/barked quite a bit more. We do not feel an apartment setting is the right environment for Cali.

Cali will play at times. She is crated when her foster isn't home and goes in easily - she's been in her foster home long enough to know the routine. Cali can be protective of her food or high value treats around other dogs so is recommended to eat in an area more of her own or her kennel.

Adoption fee is $450.00 + tax (no checks)

Please inquire whether this dog will be attending an upcoming adoption event at the Burnsville, Cottage Grove, or Forest Lake PetSmart locations on Saturday from 11-2pm.

Our fosters do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament while in foster care in their home. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home.

Sometimes there is more that comes out about a dog's personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.
