Meet Cade

Meet Cade, a sweet and lovable 5 month old puppy who is eagerly searching for his forever home. Cade is the result of a major problem we have in the South of too many people not spaying and neutering their pets. Cade's mom was a roaming neighborhood dog who got pregnant and gave birth to EIGHT puppies! A kind lady has been fostering ALL of them since birth. We were contacted to help find them homes and now we're on a mission to help Cade and his siblings find wonderful families where they can thrive!

Cade is a black mouth cur mix, a breed known for their social nature and eager-to-please attitude, making them fantastic family dogs. They are such loyal and loving pups! A DNA test to see what other breeds he may have in him (Rhodesian Ridgeback??) would be interesting. Cade is good with kids and other dogs. He has not been tested with cats but we can do some assessing if necessary. **The adult dog in the video is not their mom. Their mom is a black mouth cur mix.

While he might be a little shy when you first meet him, Cade quickly warms up with some yummy treats and gentle belly rubs. His foster mom has tried to make their outdoor living space as comfortable as possible, but the Mississippi heat and elements can be fierce! Cade would love to trade his rugged life to one where he is a cherished family member... maybe even a nap on the couch sometimes?? Like any new dog, he'll need patient adopters to help him learn the rules and routines of his new home. Since he's been living outdoors we have selected "not housetrained" because he hasn't yet been in an indoor setting for us to observe him. Though we know he's a smart boy and trust he will be a quick learner!

The reward of bringing a rescue pup home and molding him into a beloved companion for years to come is priceless! This boy deserve ALL the love and we're hoping you're the one he's been waiting for! Prior to arriving at his new home Cade will be neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and microchipped.

To apply for adoption, please go to www.bit.ly/appHCAS and complete our online application. If your application is approved and you're a great fit for Cade, our volunteer team will reply with a phone call or text. We may also reach out about other dogs at our shelter that are similar and/or another wonderful option for you.

Note: Please submit an application through the link above. We need that actual application and not simply a Petfinder inquiry.

The dog you are considering is located in South Mississippi. We conduct virtual meet and greets for out-of-town applicants and offer transport (the adoption fee includes transport to your location) to many neighboring and northeastern states. At this time we are not able to transport into Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

**We cannot guarantee breed mix or size once full grown. We make our best guess on breed based on any known family history and observable characteristics. We also do not know how big this puppy will grow. All eight siblings are quite large for 5 months, so we expect them to be BIG and could easily grow well over 60lbs.
