Meet Buttons

We have all heard the statistics about how often black dogs are overlooked in the rescue world. Dont be part of that statistic because I have done the research and you will be missing the chance at one awesome dog! Buttons might look black in pictures but in person she is this beautiful black/brown that almost looks purple in the right light. But beyond color the most important fur-related detail you should know is- SHE IS SO SOFT! Cozy cuddly soft!

In rescue, breed and age are details about a dog that we cannot know for sure but we estimate Buttons is just shy of being 3 years old, is possibly some type of pit bull/shepherd mix, and she weighs an adorable 52 lbs. When our team reported her estimated age I was reminded that you cannot guess a dogs age based on how playful the sight of toys make them. If I went off that I would have said she was a year old, she lights up and bounces for a toy the way most puppies do. It sure is cute! Take a look in her introduction video, you will see the happiness that a good toy brings this girl.

Buttons has been lucky enough to be hosted by a foster family and they shared she has great house manners and was such an easy addition to their home which includes other dogs and children.

Buttons is so dog friendly that she is able to attend one of our Doggy Day Care partners. They LOVE having her there. She is one of their favorites. She is playgroups with up to 30 dogs! I KNOW! When she has spent time at our facility she was used to help other dogs feel more comfortable and come out of their shell. She could handle the cranky dogs, the rowdy dogs, the more shy dogs, and just the goofy dogs. She has the ability to match playstyles. It is so rare and beautiful to have a dog that can do this.

If you are wondering how she does with children, her foster mom has grandkids ages 18 months to 8 years old. Her favorite was the 2 year old child. She is adoringly patient with kids.

Whether you have other pets or she would be joining your family as the one and only, she is going to fit right in!

This is an amazing family dog who is ready for the goodness of a simple life. People of her own, a soft place to sleep, a few toys, and in return she will fill your days with endless love, a heap of fun, and some amazing snuggles. Plus kisses, sweet soft kisses.

Please dont overlook Buttons, she is an amazing dog who just so happens to be available for adoption!

If you have any questions about Buttons or would like us to test her for a specific setting or detail, be in touch. We are happy to do whatever it takes for you to feel confident in your choice to adopt Buttons.

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?
The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog youve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dogs needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesnt stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:
30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
Coupons for a fun visit to Petco Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!
