This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

Meet Buster Rhodes - a sweet, 52 pound, Rhodesian Ridgeback/Black Mouth Cur mix boy who will be 2 in July 2024. Buster Rhodes was found as a stray in Mississippi.

His foster mom shares "Buster is such an amazing dog. His nubby tail goes crazy wagging when he meets new people. He loves everyone, and boy does he just adore children. If you aren't the type of people who like to be covered in doggie kisses I'm afraid Buster Rhodes is not for you. Wiggle butts and kisses are his area of expertise. He loves to florin in the yard or play fetch - well the first part of fetch anyway :). He is a snuggler and a leaner so know that his space is your space. He is gentle, loving, smart and playful. He is so happy go lucky you just can't happy but be happy around him. He gets along with every dog he meets in rescue. He does really well on a leash, especially when using a harness, and doesn't mind his crate. He is using a doggie door currently and knows that bathroom is only an outside activity. He is very attention motivated - give it and you will get it! He is a true gem!"

The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application.
