Meet Bugs
Bugs was brought in as a stray from Wapato. At 66 pounds he is a large dog but not too big. Bugs is very timid and his body looks like he hasn't had the easiest of life. He came in with scabs and ear infections and is looking for someone who will make sure he lives a fantastic life now that he is on the road to health.
Bugs went to a temporary foster home so we could learn some more about him, they described him as calm and eager to please. He enjoys attention and will hang out in his kennel when he wants to but likes to be near people. He was timid around other dogs at first but was just fine with them (both large and small), he just prefers people more. He can be a bit unsure at first but warms up quickly and then doesn't want to be away from your side. Bugs even lived with their cats for a while and just ignored them both inside and outside, how great is that?! He was fearful of the sheep and horses and wanted nothing to do with them which is fantastic news for someone who lives in the country. Bugs slept in a kennel at night with the door open, he wasn't a fan of the door being closed but since he was such a good boy they didn't mind leaving the door open. He walks well on a leash and really is a big love bug. If you are looking for a sweet dog who is a bit on the shy side but just needs a little lovin to come out of his shell then Bugs is the boy for you.

A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Before you go searching for free puppies or puppies for sale, check your local Shelters for available dogs and puppies that have been vetted and are ready to go home. Adopt Don't Shop.
