Buffy Dachshund Columbus, OH

Sweet Buffy is a 5 year old, 9lb Dachshund. She may have applications in progress, but is currently available.

Buffy has a calm, sweet disposition and loves to be around her people. She is happiest snuggled up on a lap taking a snooze. She does well meeting new people and dogs and is gentle with children. She is crate trained and mostly potty trained, and does well on a leash. She does bark/howl when she sees cats, squirrels, etc. She would rather cuddle on the couch than take walks or play with toys, so is best suited for a less active household. Buffy is undergoing treatment for heartworm and will require an adopter that is committed to following through with her treatments. Heartworm treatment requires a potential adopter to restrict ALL exercise and activity that increases heart rate or blood pressure. This includes running, jumping, and other physical activity. No walks or play. Her first treatment is complete and her second treatment is scheduled for December 5. Restrictions should continue until January 16 to minimize risk of complications. Future Heartworm treatment and post treatment checkup will be covered by Stop the Suffering but must be completed at our vet. Any other vet care would be the responsibility of the adopter.

Adoption fee is $375 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, fecal/deworming, vaccines and prevention up to date. Ohio residents only.

STS is a foster-based and volunteer-run rescue. We do not have a physical location or set hours for you to meet dogs, and it does take time to answer each inquiry. All dogs are in foster homes and once an application is approved and a home visit is completed you will be able to schedule meet and greets with available dogs.
