Buddy Chihuahua & Maltese Mix Rochester, MN

Meet Buddy, a 11-year-old handsome boy with a heart full of love and spunk. Buddy is the perfect companion for someone who can give him the attention and affection he craves. He loves following you around the house and is happiest when snuggling on your lap or cuddling up with you in bed for a nap. He is potty trained and kennel trained. He goes right into his kennel when you tell him to "go to his room" and sleeps quietly all night long.

While Buddy may be a bit of a senior, he's very spritely and full of personality! He's very mobile - does stairs no problem, jumps right up on the couch for snuggles, and tippy taps his way around the house, following you wherever you go.

Buddy gets along with great with calmer more submissive dogs around his size. He will be slower to warm up to bigger or more playful dogs. He has also lived with cats and should do ok with slow introductions to dog-savvy cats. Buddy loves kids!

Buddy does bark some when he's left in his kennel during the day so a home with shared walls might not be the best for him. Buddy is also wary of certain things, like loud noises, water hoses, and sudden movements, and may bark when nervous, so he'll need a home that is calm and understanding. He's also not fond of water but behaves well during bath time and during nail trims at the groomers.

Buddy is smart and knows several commands, including "sit, "stay, "give paw, "go lay down, and "go to your room. He enjoys car rides and short walks, but he tires easily, so his ideal outings are low-key.
