Meet Buck

Meet Buck (being fostered in Utah): You know, for an old man, I feel pretty spry! I’m not 12 years old, I’m 12 years young! When something excites me, I’m bound to zoom around the place like a runaway rocket. I love to explore the backyard, but I can’t lie, no backyard is safe from me. I like putting my little paws to work, and by work I mean digging the best looking holes you’ve ever seen. In my case, old doesn’t mean potato!

Let’s get one thing right though: that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy my lazy days! Whether I’m sunbathing out back or I’ve found the perfect snuggle spot on your lap, I make sure I get my Z’s in. If you love cozy days and cuddles, congratulations, you’ve found your match.

The only thing I might love more than cuddle time? Ooh, that sweet sound of kibble bouncing around in a bowl. How quick do you get out of bed when you realize you slept in and missed work? Yeah, that’s how fast I come running when I hear dinner’s ready! I might be a small guy, but I’ve got the stomach to compete with the big guys.

If you check all of the above boxes, we might be a forever match! I even enjoy sharing my space with other dogs, and those weird nimble things you guys call cats? I like them too! I tend to wander around and if I find the perfect spot, I might mark it. With your help though, I think it’s a habit I could break! Otherwise, I’m crate-trained, I don’t mind having friends, and I’d do well in most homes, but preferably a calmer environment with older kids if there are kids in the house.

Buck is being fostered in Utah, and his foster family is available to discuss him with you if you're interested.

Rocky Mountain Dachshund Rescue (RMDR) has fosters located in both Utah and Colorado. We encourage you to check the location of the dog you're interested in to help us match you with your new best friend in your area. While dogs can be adopted to and from other states, RMDR must meet PACFA requirements for dogs entering Colorado. If these regulations may affect the dog you're hoping to adopt, please contact us at contact@rmdr.org, and we'll be happy to provide you with further details.
