Meet Bubba
Bubba is approximately a 2 year old neutered mix of a boy! The most popular guesses have been Boxer, English bulldog, mastiff, rottie combinations. DNA results are pending so time will soon tell! For now we just know he is a cutie! Check out the pics and his nubby tail video to see for yourself!
In Bubba’s short life he has spent several months in a shelter only to be adopted and returned 2 different times. While Bubba LOVES being with his people, he doesn’t really care for people in his personal space. He is a bossy boy who likes to take charge and can sometimes be rude and demanding. If Bubba doesn’t want to do something or doesn’t like you doing something he will let you know it. Sometimes that means jumping on you, sometimes that means being mouthy and/or pawing at you. Bubba needs a calm, confident, strong leader who is willing to love him, give him personal space and establish boundaries for acceptable behavior. Bubba needs to be trained to understand he is NOT in charge and it is NOT OK to jump and/or be mouthy.
Bubba is a super star in his crate. He sits calmly, does not bark and will willingly “go to his house” any time he is instructed to do so. He loves toys! Plush toys, chew toys, rope toys, bone toys…any toy will do and Bubba does a great job entertaining himself with his very large toy collection. Bubba is already potty trained, crate trained, and sits perfectly for his treats and will sit and wait for his food.
The ideal home for Bubba would be a low traffic home with adults who are willing to love and spend time with him while giving him personal space to be his happiest. Because Bubba is so bossy, he will need an adopter who understands this and is willing to establish and continuously reinforce boundaries of acceptable behavior to help Bubba succeed. We know Bubba will be a great companion for the right person/people. We believe in Bubba so much that we have fully funded a contract with a trainer to help Bubba and his future foster/adopter adjust to a new life together. Bubba will need to be a single dog and is not a fan of kitties.
If you are interested in adopting Bubba please visit www.zoeshouserescue.com and complete an application. His adoption donation is $350
