Brooke German Shepherd Dog Chicago, IL

Meet Brooke! This beautiful girl was found as a stray and never reclaimed. She was spayed and seemed well cared for, but sadly had no microchip or tag. Brooke is estimated to be 3-4 years old and weighs about 70 lbs. her foster mom describes as very sweet, eager to please, and submissive. Brooke is very timid and will need an adopter willing to continue to work on her confidence. She does become frightened easily, so a house with small children is not ideal for her. Brooke is todo with other dogs, but prefers they are calm - if they are barky or pushy she will cower.

Brooke is housebroken and crate trained. She doesn’t love being left alone for long hours, but does well in her ruffland kennel. Brooke absolutely LOVES being outside, so much we think maybe she was an outside dog at one time. She will need a secure fenced yard since she can be an escape artist, especially in a new environment.

Brooke does have a prey drive like most shepherds and likes to chase rabbits! Aside from being cuddly and adorable, she’s super smart! Her foster mom thinks she’d excel in agility. She is working on loose leash walking and basic commands.
