Brodee Shepherd & Akita Mix Midland, TX

Brodee, like many dogs in West Texas, was found roaming on his own on the streets. He was emaciated, wounded, and full of fleas and ticks. A kind animal lover took him in and sought care and a rescue for him. She fostered him for a short time waiting for a space to open up for him. His vet visit revealed a skin infection and two types of tick fever. He has since recovered from his wounds, and gained weight. He is being treated still for tick born illnesses and a skin infection. Brodee is a 1 year old male mixed Shepherd (Akita) type breed about 45 lbs with a mostly brindle and white medium length coat. He is very energetic in the kennels and will do great with an active family. He is learning to walk on a leash and enjoys being outside. Brodee will still need to learn commands and not to jump up on people. He is eager to please and very treat motivated so he should be very trainable. He has been a bit reactive to male dogs in our care. He is a high energy boy that walks good on a leash but needs to learn jumping manners. Brodee seems to be friendly with other active dogs but may be too much for older or smaller dogs. Not good with cats. Please come and visit me at the Adoption Center inside PetSmart in Midland, TX!
