Meet BROADWAY
Broadway is a pretty typical husky puppy-- mouthy, impulsive, and incredibly energetic! As such, she would do best in a house with an experienced owner and older kids. She's a playful pup and already understands fetch, but will need further training to help her understand how to play in a more appropriate way-- both with people and other dogs. While she is playful with other dogs, she gets overly excited and tends to pounce on them, which could get her in trouble. Because of how quickly that kind of play could turn into prey drive, she would need to go to a home with no cats or small dogs as well. She is also currently quite intense about her food, and while she hasn't shown any outward signs of aggression, she will need further training to prevent her from becoming a resource guarder. OTHER PETS: Broadway doesn't quite understand how to appropriately interact with other dogs yet. She's still young, and that puppy energy could get her in trouble with the wrong dog. But with time, patience, and training, Broadway will eventually learn how to play appropriately. It's possible she could do well with a tolerant dog who gives appropriate corrections, but while she's still learning it's important that any interactions are supervised and managed. [Case-By-Case (Must Meet First)] NO SMALL DOGS OR CATS OWNER EXPERIENCE: Broadway would do best with someone who has experience with young huskies and who understands the breed's quirks. She can be mouthy and isn't fond of handling, so a confident handler who knows how to appropriately train and guide her in her journey would be ideal. [Experienced] KIDS: Because Broadway can be so mouthy and jumpy, and the fact that she's uncomfortable with some forms of handling, she would do best around older kids who can understand and respect those boundaries. [15+ (Must Meet First)] ACTIVITY LEVEL: Broadway, like any husky puppy, still has a ton of energy! She would do best with multiple walks a day, supervised and interactive play time in a fenced-in yard, and plenty of mental enrichment. Ensuring Broadway gets both physical and mental exercise daily will help ensure that she doesn't make her own entertainment. [Good Walking Buddy / Olympic Athlete] VETERINARY CARE: [Routine] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Broadway is still young and is only just beginning her training journey. She can be mouthy, jumpy, and doesn't understand how to play appropriately with other dogs yet. But with training and patient guidance from her new owner, Broadway will adapt well. Positive reinforcement training will help Broadway bond with her new owner, as well as ensuring she masters her basic commands and understands behavorial expectations. Eventually, with additonal training, she could also be a candidate for other activities like flyball, agility, hiking, lure coursing, weight pulling or dock diving. [Moderate/Intense] GROOMING: Huskies shed a lot and blow their coats twice a year. Daily brushing will help Broadway stay comfortable and matt-free. Some people also choose to have a professional groomer help to maintain the shedding year-round. [Routine Brushing / Professional Grooming]
