Brea Labrador Retriever Mix Virginia Beach, VA

Brea is a 5-year-old, 45 lb Labrador mix with a sweet and loving personality. She is spayed, house-trained, and crate-trained, and well-behaved girl who’s ready to find her forever home.

Brea is good with both men and women and enjoys the company of other dogs of all sizes, making her a great companion for a multi-dog household. She has not been tested with cats, so we recommend caution there. While she is unsure about children due to her past, she would do best in a calm home with adults or older children who can be gentle and patient with her.

At home, Brea is generally calm and content but can get a burst of energy and zoom around the house at times. She loves outdoor time and would be thrilled to go on regular walks, although she can pull a bit at the beginning. Once she’s done with her business, she walks much more calmly. Brea is not interested in toys but adores human attention and loves when people engage with her.

Although she travels well, Brea does get a little nervous in the car, so extra patience is appreciated when traveling with her. She’s on a diet of Rachel Ray salmon and rice with veggies, which she enjoys and does well with.

Brea has had a difficult past, and she’s sensitive to loud yelling or shouting, which can trigger her due to the trauma she’s experienced. She needs a home where she feels safe, loved, and respected, and with time, she will blossom into an even more wonderful companion.
