Meet Bowser

This dog is special, actually amazing, and probably the most photogenic dog because he smiles all the time…should have named him HAPPY.

Here is Bowser’s highlight reel:

- House trained, leash trained, prefers to sleep on the floor by your bed (not crate trained)
- Fully vetted, microchipped, and neutered
- Silly, medium energy, great at fetch and sits on command
- His ears are his best feature as they flop in different directions on different days
- Enjoys meeting new dogs but needs a medium energy dog as a sibling
- Good with cats
- Low maintenance, non-destructive and loves antlers, toys or a stick from the yard
- Will greet you at the end of the day with the biggest grin
- Great recall when he knows a treat is waiting for him
- He is the submissive type and follower rather than a leader
- 50lbs with beautiful, shiny, soft fur (he loves the snow)
- Not a runner, but would do best with a fenced yard
- Bowers does request a sandbox be installed under the shade of a tree as it is his favorite place
- Basically, he is a big puppy who loves hard, plays hard and sleeps hard- he is so close to being the perfect dog

Bowsers Story: This sweet puppy found himself in the Fulton County shelter way to young and vulnerable. While at the shelter Bowser developed an upper respiratory infection which is commonly spread in shelters. He needed immediate medical help and Hero Dog Rescue had him transferred to a vet. After some time with the vet, some antibiotics and TLC he was happy and healthy.

We feel Bowser needs another dog in the house to help build his confidence, show him the ropes and be his playmate. A home where someone was around would also benefit him since he isn’t a fan of the crate. He is the type of dog that would be content just hanging at the house all the time getting your attention between naps. He does communicate when he needs something through whining and we have never heard him bark inside the house, only outside when he sees something to alert us about. Bowser is a fabulous dog that will make a wonderful companion, if you would like to learn more or meet him, please apply at Herorescue.org.

Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies.

Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.

Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.

Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
