Boo
Pembroke, MA

Make way villany, heroes coming through!

Boo and his brother Minsc have been blossoming here in foster and are ready to branch out on their own adventures. They're super fun little dudes with so much potential, and are looking for individual families who will help them grow into their best selves!

Boo is a bit more sensitive and shy than his brother at first, and tends to let Minsc take the lead. He typically likes to hang back and observe from a safe distance in new situations, but is already showing more confidence as he settles in and realizes things will move at his pace. I've noticed his personality really starting to come out: he has gone from a more subdued pup who prefered to snuggle up next to me for support, to an energetic little savage who loves to play tug with anything he can sink his teeth into. Boo loves sprinting around the yard and house, and would love an active home! With his sensitive nature and affinity for pant legs, he will do best in a home with no young children and with a family who will continue working on his confidence.

The pups are working on foundational skills, crating, and house training. Initially a bit timid, they've come out of their shells here with controlled exposure to new dogs, people, sights, sounds, and textures. They have done well around neutral adult dogs, preferring those who pay them no mind so they can gather information on their own terms. Dogs who are too forward or rambunctious are overwhelming and scary at this time, but if integrated together slowly they are fine (they certainly enjoy playing with each other, and have been opening up to the other dogs here). Likewise, less is more when introducing them to new people: they show some curiosity, but need a little time to warm up. Once they're comfortable with you they're super affectionate, playful pups: they love snuggling and will be right in your lap or between your feet any time you sit down!

Minsc and Boo found themselves in a shelter along with a few other siblings, so both mom and dad are unknown. They appear to be herdy mixes with some hound thrown in for good measure, but a dna test is the only way to know for sure! Both boys show a fair amount of herding dog behavior and can be little landsharks at times. They're learning that toys are better choices than pant legs (or human flesh), but will need some continued training to ensure they are butt-kicking for goodness! They are both active pups and will need families committed to exercising both their minds and bodies.

The pups have an estimated birthday around the end of July, and are currently around 13lbs. Both are microchipped and up to date on monthly preventatives. They have age-appropriate vaccinations, and are being adopted out on neuter contracts to allow their puppy bodies and minds more time to develop. The puppies are available to separate homes, and must meet their potential families prior to adoption in order to help ensure a great match.
