Meet Bonnie

Bonnie is a mixed breed puppy (pug in there?) who was brought in on a stray hold via the Town of St. Stephen. She was too much for her elderly owner to handle and from what we gather has had two homes in her short life of approximately 12 weeks old.

Bonnie is social and engaging with all she meets. She has met cats and dogs and handled herself well.

Bonnie is an above average busy puppy. She is always on the move and always looking for things to do. If you don't create opportunities for her to keep her busy, she will create them herself, things she will find fun, but you may find not so fun.
If you are a person or family who is also busy and athletic she will be a good match. She would be a nightmare for someone looking for a couch potato. This is not saying she is not snuggly and cuddly, we just really need people to think about how active they are and if they can truly meet Bonnie's needs. She is not a dog for a first time dog owner and because of her energy level, she would be best in a home with kids who are 10 and up. This puppy is a going concern and has been passed around at least twice in her young life and she needs to find her "rock". You don't mind a puppy who may be genetically wired to be more barky (apartment life might not be a good fit). You have a good sense of humour and don't sweat the small stuff. We find Bonnie hilarious and we want her new home to feel the same way.

GREAT THINGS - Bold and will approach most people and things without a lot of fear. Does not mind having nails trimmed, seems to like the car. Is really taken to her leash walks.

THINGS THAT MAY BE IN AN ISSUE IN THE HOME - Bonnie is likely genetically wired to be a barker. This is a normal dog behaviour for many breeds, but if barking really bothers you, she may not be the one for you and she may not be for apartment living.

NOT HOUSETRAINED - Please keep in mind she is young. She will need to be tended every 4 hours during the day, so if you work, which we realize many people do, you will need to make arrangements to come home or have someone tend her.

Bonnie has had her first vaccines on April 23 and has been treated for fleas and worms. Bonnie had a health check with the local vet on April 26 and was deemed healthy for adoption. With our puppies, our adoption fee includes their spay/neuter when old enough at our local partner vets. If you are not from Charlotte County, you will have to travel back here for spay/neuter, or you may spay/neuter at your own vet and we will compensate what we would pay at our own vets and adopters pay the difference.
