Meet BOB

***NEEDS FOREVER HOME***
Currently in Malta, ID
---POSSIBLE THERAPY DOG---

Meet 8 month old, 23-lb BOB who was hit by a car and has already had 3 surgeries to repair both upper leg bones. Fortunately, we scored an excellent, experienced medical foster home who has nursed BOB back to a healthy condition and socialized him, so he is ready for his furever home. His furever family just needs to know that he will have some physical limitations. BOB needs to gain strength and endurance which will come in time.

From the foster mom's perspective, BOB is an absolute charmer! He loves a lot of attention. He bonded quickly with her and has become a velcro dog. He's still skittish around strangers (especially men). He will let you know when he needs to go outside or hungry or just wants some cuddle time.

BOB is great with cats, dogs, chickens, rabbits...all kinds of animals. He shows no food or other resource reactivity with animals or people.

BOB is house-trained and crate-trained (it is his safe place). He has been trained to stay off of furniture. He has been taught to walk beside his handler even without a leash.

BOB is still getting used to getting into vehicles, but once he gets in, he really enjoys going for a ride and he's very well-behaved.

Foster mom believes that BOB would make a really good therapy dog because he seems to have a lot of empathy when someone is sad or lonely.

So BOB isn't perfect...if BOB doesn't get your attention or if he is left free in the house while you do an errand, he will make his presence known...he will find a work glove or slipper or tennis shoe and chews on it. What's interesting about this, is he gets one shoe/slipper from every person in the house!
