Meet Blue
Meet Blue!
Blue is a happy, healthy 8-year-old Yellow Lab/Ridgeback mix looking for his perfect home. He's up to date on all his vaccines (including rabies as of Nov '24) and full of energy despite his age!
Blue loves people and is great with kids. He enjoys playing tug-of-war, running around outside, and is surprisingly good with chickens-he won't chase them! He needs space to run, so a fenced yard or an electric fence with a collar would be ideal.
When it comes to walks, Blue is fantastic until he sees another dog-then he pulls hard and barks. He is somewhat dog-reactive, so he's not a good fit for someone who isn't strong enough to hold onto him. However, he can get along with other dogs if introduced slowly and does love to play with some! He's also a great guard dog who will let you know if someone is at the door.
Other things to know about Blue:
- He loves spending time with his people and doesn't like being left outside alone.
- He's house-trained and will happily sleep in bed with you-but if that's not your thing, some foil on the couch works wonders!
- He enjoys car rides but can get a little anxious.
- He knows basic commands like sit, stay, and go to bed-he's eager to please!
- He LOVES baths and will sit patiently in the shower while you wash him.
What Blue Needs:
- A home with a fenced yard or space to run.
- An active owner who's home often and willing to work with him on training.
- A family that understands his reactivity and is okay with avoiding dog parks/hikes.
