Beth came to us last year starved, and in the poor condition many of our dogs came to us in. Her body healed quickly- but typical of some of the dogs used for hunting, she didn’t know how to love. Beth had very little interest in people. She wasn’t aggressive by any means, but was just oblivious to what humans had to offer her, being as none of them had ever shown her much kindness.

Over the course of the months she’s been here, not only has she learned how to love, she has excelled at it- and has become one of the most loving dogs we’ve seen here at Camp Jean. She absolutely melts into your arms. When she looks up at you with those incredibly big, soft brown eyes you can feel her gratitude….and although we would never expect our dogs to be “thankful” you can plainly see that she absolutely is.

Beth is around 6-7 years old and wonderful with people of all ages. She’s still pretty energetic thanks to her hound drive. I would say no to homes with cats because of that same drive. She does however do well with most dogs. She LOVES to play, almost to the point of being too much for a dog that’s not such a fan of playing. So a friend who meets her level of goofy goodness would be ideal for her. A friend that could be a kind leader to her would also be ideal.
