Senior Hearts Rescue and Renewal is the only licensed senior dog rescue organization in Western Pennsylvania. We do not have a shelter or a public facility. ALL of our dogs reside in foster homes in the greater Pittsburgh, PA area.

We are a 100% volunteer organization. Please respect our volunteers' time. If a dog is listed on PetFinder, he/she IS available for adoption. We cannot reply to messages, phone calls, and emails about a dog until we have received, reviewed, and approved an adoption application.

Completing this application is the first step in our adoption screening process. You MUST complete the application in its entirety in order to be considered as a potential adopter. And now a few words from Bernie:

I am 12 years young and weigh about 7 pounds. I'm at an ideal weight.

I'm a happy yorkie who is friendly with anyone I've met. I enjoy several walks a day, playing with toys, hanging with my fur siblings, cuddling with my human, and naps.

I don't hear as great as I used to. But it doesn't stop me from enjoying my life.

I like other dogs as long as they aren't big or hyper.

I will need a small dog fur sibling in my furever home. Life is always better with a friend.

I am house-trained but I do need those walks to be a good boy!

My favorite humans would be those that work from home or active retirees. We get to spend the day together and go on lots of walks.
