BENTLEY was found by a Good Samaritan on a very cold day. They walked the neighborhood to find his home, and they did, what what happened next was heartbreaking! The owner opened the door, and said,” I knew we should have thrown him in the river”.
The Good Samaritan got the owner to surrender Bentley to them, and they reached out for help.
Bentley was in a foster home for awhile and did well with big dogs, little dogs and cats. He is the 3 S’s:
-smart
-sweet
-silly
Bentley is 8mos old and he currently weighs 40 lbs. He is potty trained and working on kennel training, and eager to learn. He listens very well and loves playing with dog friends. He is a typical puppy that needs someone who understands he has been through so much and needs a patient, compassionate person to help him learn and grow.
ADOPTING A PET
We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend. We are also open Monday through Friday by appointment. Please contact us by phone at 913-321-1445 or by email at petadoptions@kckpd.org to schedule your appointment during weekdays.
If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match.
Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older).
