Benny American Staffordshire Terrier & Beagle Mix Lake Wylie, SC

Benny was rescued from life on a chain where he was very lonely and neglected in the far back of a yard. He didn't give up hope that someday his cries would be heard and he would be freed from his terribly sad life. That day came and he didn't know what to think, he was put into a crate and driven to a vet's office where he stayed for a week to get vet care and to decompress from his previous life. Then he was placed in a foster home. A real inside home where he is no longer lonely and gets to hang out with his foster family and their dog! He can't believe how wonderful it is! His foster family said he is doing amazing! He is a little shy at first, but then warms up. Benny loves to cuddle on the couch with his foster family and their dog. He is crate trained and seems to feel safe in his crate. He is quiet and has medium to low energy. Benny seems to feel most comfortable when the foster's dog is near, so we think he would be a great second or 3rd dog for a family. He is learning to be more confident on a leash and with more and more practice he will be a pro!
The foster family has a cat that Benny has not been reactive to, so we think he is fine with cats. They are introducing him slowly, so more information will come on his cat friendliness. Benny would be best in a home with another dog friendly dog and with children at least 10 yrs and up since he is a little shy at first. Fostering to adopt is an option for Benny.
