Gentil géant recherche famille très douce et attentionnée!

Je me présente.
Je suis Ben, un beau GROS tosa inu d'un an et demi qui pèse environ 50 kg.

Je cherche une famille adoptive prête à me prendre en charge avec tous les coûts qu'un chien géant implique (nourriture, soins vétérinaires, etc.), et ce pour TOUTE ma vie.

J'ai été sauvé par Humane Society International / Canada du commerce de la viande de chien en Corée du Sud. Là-bas, j'ai passé toute ma vie dehors, dans une petite cage en métal rouillé, dans le but d'être un jour abattu pour être mangé.

J'ai eu la chance d'être sauvé à temps de ce terrible destin et de venir au Centre de réhabilitation pour animaux de HSI pour commencer ma nouvelle vie.

Malheureusement, je n'avais jamais eu de bons soins, d'enrichissement ou d'éducation avant d'y arriver. J'étais maigre, craintif envers les humains et incapable de sortir de mon enclos à mon arrivée, et tout ça à cause de mes traumatismes...

Côté apprentissage, j'ai encore du chemin à faire, mais j'ai fait de beaux progrès au Centre de réhabilitation. J'approche mes humains de confiance, j'accepte leurs câlins, et je fais même des appels au jeu !

J'ai parfois des accidents à l'intérieur, mais je m'améliore beaucoup côté propreté. Je ne connais pas la marche en laisse, donc j'aurai besoin d'une cour 100% clôturée facilement accessible pour m'aider avec la propreté au début, car la promenade ne sera pas possible. Aussi, je ne connais pas les escaliers, donc monter me fait trop peur actuellement. Je vais l'apprendre avec de la patience et du renforcement positif, mais je cherche une résidence où cela ne sera pas un trop gros obstacle, surtout pour aller faire mes besoins les premiers jours. Un premier palier est idéal!

Je cherche des gens qui croient en l'éducation positive sans l'usage de la force et qui auront la patience nécessaire pour m'aider avec tout ça et plus encore! J'ai tant à apprendre et je m'épanouis avec une approche respectueuse et douce.

Je peux vivre avec des enfants de plus de 14 ans, car je suis encore craintif des mouvements brusques, des bruits forts ou des visiteurs, donc je cherche une vie avec des humains assez calmes et compréhensifs.

J'ai un niveau d'énergie bas à moyen, mais j'ai besoin d'assez de stimulations et d'activités par jour pour être épanoui. J'aime courir dans le parc extérieur au centre! Je cherche quelqu'un qui va pouvoir dépenser mon énergie adéquatement, même si la marche en laisse ne sera pas possible au début pour moi. ?

Je suis peu vocal, mais quand je jappe, ca fait trembler les murs avec ma grosse voix, donc la vie en condo/appartement serait déconseillée.

On ne connaît pas encore mon comportement avec les autres animaux, donc je cherche une famille idéalement où je serais le seul animal. Des informations vont s'ajouter à ce sujet prochainement!

Gentle giant looking for very kind and caring family!

Let me introduce myself.
I'm Ben, a beautiful LARGE Tosa Inu who is a year and a half old and weighs about 110 pounds.

I'm looking for an adoptive family willing to take me in with all the costs that a giant dog entails (food, vet care, etc.) for ALL my life.

I was rescued by Humane Society International / Canada from the dog meat trade in South Korea. There, I spent my entire life outside in a small rusty metal cage, for the purpose of one day being slaughtered for food.

I was lucky enough to be rescued in time from this terrible fate and come to HSI Trauma Rehabilitation Centre to start my new life.

Unfortunately, I never received any care, enrichment or education before I got there. I was skinny, fearful of humans, and unable to leave my pen when I arrived, all because of my traumas...

I still have a long way to go in terms of learning, but I've made good progress at the Rehab Centre. I approach my trusted humans, accept their hugs, and even drop into play bows!

I sometimes have accidents indoors, but I'm getting much better. I've never walked on a leash, so I'll need a fully fenced yard that is easily accessible to help me with housetraining at first, as walking will not be possible. I've never used stairs either, so those are too scary for me right now. I'll learn with patience and positive reinforcement, but I'm looking for a home without too many obstacles, especially to go potty the first few days. A ground floor would be ideal!

I'm looking for people who believe in positive education without the use of force and who'll have the patience to help me with all this and more! I have so much to learn and I thrive on a respectful and gentle approach.

I can live with children over 14, as I'm still fearful of sudden movements, loud noises or visitors, so I'm looking for a home with calm and understanding humans.

I have a low to medium energy level, but I need enough stimulation and activity per day to be fulfilled. I love to run in the outdoor park at the centre! I'm looking for someone who'll be able to expend my energy appropriately, even though leash walking won't be possible at first. ?

I'm not very vocal, but when I bark, my big voice makes the walls tremble, so condo/apartment living would be inadvisable.

My behaviour with other animals is not known yet, so ideally I'm looking for a family where I'd be the only pet. More information will be added about this soon!

I'm vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and will be neutered soon!
