Bell German Shepherd Dog Chicago, IL

Bell was surrendered to a local shelter when her owner suddenly died and remaining family could not care for her. She is 7 months old and ALL puppy! Bell is a super friendly girl that loves people, kids, and other dogs. She has lived with cats previously as well.


Bell is getting into the groove of her foster home. She’s happy being with people, and follows us around wherever we go. She’s glad to have a furry dog friend to explore the yard, and takes cues from him that things are fun. The cat of the house growled at her, Bell sniffed the air, and left the cat’s space.

Bell takes treats very nicely and lady-like. She likes toys and has been raiding the toy box. If the dog of the house engages her in play, she will join him. If he becomes too much, she will tell him to leave her alone. She has picked up greeting people coming into the house, and will go to the door and be excited to meet people. She’s met the neighbors, including one operating a riding mower. She was not fazed. She went over to greet him, and stepped on the mower to really say hello to him. Crate training is going well, as is training to ring a bell to go outside to potty. She goes to the door to go outside, but still has an accident, usually when the people aren’t watching for her to go to the door, but everyone is catching on quick to potty training.

She does chew and is easily redirected to appropriate chew things. She has not chewed furniture, but RIP the strap on my crocs- my fault for not picking them up.

Bell has to be one of the nicest Shepherds I’ve been around. She’s incredibly sweet, and easy going. Whoever adopts her will be very lucky!
