Meet Becky with the Good Ears
Becky with the good ears arrived to NALA Rescue on a transport up from Arkansas. From day 1, she has been outgoing, energetic, and happy to meet all creatures. She is a courageous little lady that likes to explore and take risks (like politely introducing herself to the resident cat or tackling the cranky resident dog). She has even visited the Omaha Dog Bar where she warmed up quickly to new canine companions.
Daily activities include romping outside, wrestling her foster siblings, playing with toys, and gnawing on chews. She crates well and she sleeps through the night, but give her some patience in a new home as she readjusts. Becky is very attentive, and she already knows how to sit on command, especially in exchange for treats. If you have a dog at home, Becky will be its new best friend. She holds her own even with big dogs. Once the playing ends, she would love to snuggle up on the couch and watch TV with the family.
In rescue, we rarely know the exact breed makeup of a pup, but our best guess is lab and hound. If you are familiar with labs, you will not be surprised that Becky is food motivated and social. If you are familiar with hounds, you may recognize those floppy ears and her yowl when she has a complaint to file (usually her complaint is that you have stopped playing with her). Though she sounds a little bit like a sea lion when she has strong opinions, we promise she is 100% dog. That being said, she may not be the best candidate for apartment living.
Despite her size, Becky is still a baby, so her future adopters will need to forgive her for her puppy behaviors – sleeve biting, occasional accidents, jumping up in excitement. If kiddos are present in the home, Becky would be happy to play with them as long as an adult makes sure that everyone is being safe and respecting boundaries. Becky learns quickly, and with a willing owner and some consistent training, she will be a model canine citizen.
When you adopt through NALA Rescue, your adoption donation covers all initial vetting. Puppies will receive all puppy vaccines and needed boosters (Distemper/Parvo, Rabies, Lepto, Bordetella). We treat for fleas, ticks, intestinal parasites, giardia, and any other conditions we notice upon intake. Your adoption also includes the spay / neuter of your pet when age appropriate by a veterinarian in our network.
If you have questions, or are interested in adopting a dog from NALA Rescue, YOU MUST APPLY THROUGH WWW.NALARESCUE.ORG to be considered. If approved, you will hear from our adoption team. Please remember to be patient as we are all volunteers. If the dog is posted, it is available for adoption. Once the dog is adopted, he/she will be removed from this page.
