Beau is a high-energy and affectionate hound mix, approximately 5 years old, with a heart of gold. He has a strong affinity for human interaction and enjoys being at the center of activities, be it welcoming visitors, relaxing on the couch, or accompanying car rides. As an adventurous canine, Beau would thrive in an active household; he enjoys hiking, swimming, playing fetch, and exploring new environments.

Although he generally interacts well with other dogs, Beau will thrive best as the sole dog in a household.

He is most suitable for a home with older children and a fenced yard where he can safely run and play. Beau will alert owners to strangers with his distinctive hound bay and can experience anxiety when left alone.

Beau is not suited for a home with small dogs or other animals, although he is currently living in a home with a dog savvy cat, we can not guarantee that he will appreciate a feline in his new home.

Rescued from Mississippi in 2021, Beau was adopted into a loving home. Unfortunately, he is now being returned through no fault of his own. Beau is seeking a forever home where he can continue to be a devoted and loyal companion.

Adoption fees cover age specific vaccinations, martingale collar, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm/lyme/ehrlichia test, worming and transport fees.

Adoption fees:
Through 6 months of age $450;
7 months to through 5 years $400;
6 years and under 9 years $325: bonded pairs are $500;
9 years and older $250: bonded pairs are $300

This dog is available unless it is marked as Pending, meaning Pending Adoption. This dog is in foster care locally, ONLY if Maine is listed next to the dogs name; otherwise, the dog is still waiting with our partner rescue for an adoption or foster home in New England.

Imported dogs are transported on a USDA approved transport with a Health Certificate. All imported dogs are quarantined 14 days prior to getting on transport.ve had annual heartworm tests and are on heartworm preventative.
