Meet Bear & Bailey
Bear is inseparable to Bailey and together they are a Dynamic duo. They appear to be siblings from different litters, with Bear being around 3, and Bailey being the little sister around 2. Our best guess is they are Lab/Pyr/Anatolian mix. They weigh about 80 lbs.
They were found abandoned in a park and taken to an animal control shelter where they were just days away from their time being up. The staff there were very attached to them, named them, and were grateful that we were able to save them.
Bear is the big brother, keeping his little sister in line. They are both playful, affectionate, house trained, good on leash, good in the car. They are not happy when separated and will be adopted together. We do not know how they are with kids or cats, but they have a very gentle dispositions.
Unfortunately Bear tested positive for heartworms, so they will need a family who can bring him to our vet in Pacific for two treatments 30 days apart, and Bear must be kept fairly inactive for the duration of his treatment. Dirks will take care of the cost of his heartworm treatment. They will be considered foster to adopt until Bear’s treatment is completed.
Applicants must have a secure fence at least 4 feet high connected to a door of the home. No invisible fences. Applicants will be screened, including a home visit.
If you would like to meet Bear and Bailey, complete an application on our website dirksfund.com. All members of the household, including other dogs, must come to meet them. Other dogs in the home must be current on vaccinations and altered.
Adoption hours are Saturdays and Sundays 10-2. Pacific, MO.
Total Adoption Fee for Bear & Bailey: $750
