According to his previous family: Bear is a sweet dog who does well with kids and other dogs! He is energetic and is looking for a home that can be active with him as he needs to shed some pounds. He is house trained and crate trained, and knows sit, come, and stay.

Volunteers say "Bear and I started by going for a walk on the MKT for an hour or so. He seemed to want to run so we ran the last 30 minutes, which surprised me since he's an older dog! He really wanted to jump in the creek and swim, and kept eating snow haha. He also wanted to greet every person we saw on the trail and was very well mannered. We then went home and he took a long nap on the couch while I worked on emails. I took him for two more walks in my neighborhood. Bear is not very food motivated it seemed and did not want any treats. I think Bear would be an amazing family dog for the people who want an older gentle dog for their kids. He is so sweet and loves affection and belly rubs and being outdoors. Bear is also an excellent walker on a leash and doesn't pull at all, and mostly walks right beside you which was very impressive."
