And now a few words from me:
Hi my name is Baxter and I couldn't be more happy to have a new 'leash' on life these days and I'm not looking back. I'm experiencing 'dog joy!' now~!  Thank you Loyal Rescue Inc. for taking me in and saving me from an uncertain future. Because of my past, I am a little fearful of men at first, but seem to be ok once I know I can trust them. It's just going to take me a bit of time. I'm a young pup still who has a lot of learning left to do...and I learn pretty quick. Although I'm still a puppy, I'm pretty 'low key'. I love to snuggle with my foster mom, but snuggling with my foster dad is still a work in progress. I have started going up to my foster dad to smell and take treats and I no longer run in fear at the sight of him; it's only been a few days, so that's pretty good progress so far for me! I love to play with other dogs and I'm a 'happy go lucky' kinda guy! I'm very gentle and won't jump up on you. My foster mom gets a real kick out of seeing me frolic and prance around. I know my forever home and family are out there somewhere just waiting to meet me....they just haven't been lucky enough to find me yet...but I know they will!Â
And now a few words from my foster mom:
Baxter is such a sweet and happy little fellow who just loves to be loved! He loves attention and affection (what dog wouldn't) but this little fellow was denied the unconditional love early in life that he so much craved and deserved from humans. He's such an easy fellow to care for...no trouble at all. He gets along with everyone fabulously and loves to play with other dogs. He's still a pup, but not a high energy pup. He is going to have a groom shortly but in the mean time he has had a lot of fun getting dirty! He settles nicely and is learning to crate train. It took him a few days to get used to going in a crate, but now he goes in with no trouble. He will go in the crate on his own just to sleep and relax. He is house trained (so far) with us, no accidents inside. He just wants to please you. We are in love with this little fellow and know he won't last long in rescue. Baxter would do well in either an apartment or house, preferably with another dog of similar energy level and temperament who will play with him. A more quiet home setting would also work best for this little guy. Although he is fearful of men, his fear is mild (we got him at such a young age) so a home with a man would be ok as long as it's understood that he will need positive experiences with men on an ongoing basis to help him over the long term. He's very resilient given what he's been through. He is ready to start his new life with his new forever family.Â
