Ok let’s try this again! Barkley has now been in foster care for 3 weeks and has made VAST improvements on his issues! First of all, regarding Barkley’s pottying inside issues, we did find out he had crystals in his bladder. So this was probably causing him pain and reluctance to empty his bladder. After being on meds for about 1.5 weeks, foster mom is happy to report that Barkley goes potty outside more frequently and seems to like using a pee pee pad when he decided to go inside.

Also, Barkley’s barking issues have lessened significantly and he has learned to tone it down quite a bit! Of course, this might come back when he goes to a new home although we feel it’s hopeful!

Foster mom’s main issue now is still NOT being able to “handle” him physically. He is very reluctant to being picked up. He will try to bite. He will tolerate being picked up with a towel draped over him when necessary. He likes to be petted on his terms, but will still nip if he doesn’t like it. Barkley seriously enjoys his toys. They seem to give him a lot of comfort and stimulation. He is still doing okay with other dogs in the home as long as they aren’t too energetic and barky. Foster mom would love to share more
in depth information with people that ARE SERIOUSLY INQUIRING. Thank you all for rooting for Barkley to learn how to be a good boy and praying for the right adoptive situation to come along.
