I am currently in foster care so please contact the shelter to meet me.
This is what my foster has to say:
I’m a pretty good looking Texas Heeler who goes by “Tex.” 3 perfectly placed round large black spots on my back, docked tail, and black liner around each eye. In the month I’ve been with this family (I’m bragging) I’ve learned house training, dog door, fetch, stay, and come. I’m a velcro guy who will be by your side on the couch, in the yard, on a car ride. Their four dogs are my new friends whom I race around and play together. I’ve never had my own toys, so when I got several new ones here I’ve been pretty protective to keep them all to myself. Their cats breeze by with no interest. When friends come over I try to get in their car for a ride! Wish I could tell you my history because wearing a collar was scary, but now I’ve got that mastered. Still working on getting familiar with a leash. It makes me freeze up but I’m trying. That really scares me, but I will always come to you when you call out “Tex.” I need someone to continue meeting me where I am as I wish to keep learning through patience, understanding, and love. Basically just a friendly guy wishing for my own family to call home.
Latest update from foster:
“Tex” has come such a long way in 3 short months. House and dog door trained. Loves a good game of fetch. Holds tight to his new toys. Very loyal. Walks on a leash. Tex obviously had a troubled past, but is letting his fears go and trust build. Very good with other dogs and cats. Responds consistently to stay, come, sit. Tex very much desires to be by your side. Needs someone to continue building on his attributes. Caution with children under 12 years old as Tex is a herder and has some likes and dislikes.
