7/6/24-Banks has had a very busy week. Full of walks (he is doing so well), car trips to the river and to visit his doggie pal Gracie. He inquisitively watched jet skiers and kids swimming off the dock. No trepidation near water as Banks doesn’t mind walking along the waters edge in the sand and rocks. For the July 4th holiday, he attended a pool party at Gracie’s pad. There were about 10 people frolicking in and aside the pool. He was polite to all guests who entered and left the back yard and showed a keen interest in the pool. He was lifted and placed at the pool steps and didn't seem to mind it. Of course it was very hot so the water felt great! Amongst the party goers was a dog savvy pre-teen who garnished him with ample affection which he bellied up to. He is the kind of pup who will continue to flourish as long as you continue deposits into Banks.

7/5/24-Banks went to boxer Gracie’s house today for a pool party with a about 10 people. He was well behaved, of course due in part to Gracie to play with & there was a 10 year old very dog savvy girl who pet and loved on him. He was polite to all guests who entered the back yard and showed a keen interest in the pool. I lifted him down a couple of steps and he didn't seem to mind it, of course very hot today so probably felt great!

7/4/24-Banks is high energy & lovely about 90% of the time. The other 10% is like Dogs Gone Wild, Spring Break! LOL He would be best to have another young dog where he is not the dominant one & the other dog will put him in his place. He also needs a dominant handler who will not let him get away with things. He fully respects the husband & 18 year old daughter in the home who are the type to take control. However with the female adult who is not as firm with him, Banks treats her like a doggie playmate that he can bounce off of, bite at & body check like he would another dog in play. No aggression just out of control young boxer energy that has no where to go since they don’t have another dog in their home. His other training is coming along, he walks pretty nicely on the pinch collar and understands the basic commands and will be a good playmate for a well balanced more dominant dog. He has tons of potential and has grown with consistency and lots of social interaction to people and the young boxer Gracie in the family. He really needs that doggie playmate to model after (or doggie daycare) & get his energy out as he reboots right after a catnap & is raring to go again.

6/30/24-Banks is a 12 week old pup in a one year old body. His world experiences seem limited as he is inquisitive about everything. He is getting a lot of socialization in normal day to day routines, to household items, car trips, other people and dogs. He met Gracie a 3 yr female boxer and had a great time running and playing. He did try mounting her but she is a well balanced youngster with lots of confidence and energy who showed him up. He would most definitely do well with an energetic and well trained doggie playmate. He tries to play with people like another dog which just doesn’t work for anyone in his growing body. LOL He is extremely athletic and can clear a 4’ fence so a 6’ fenced yard or leashed is a must at this point. He has no aggression but I think little children he would decimate with his size and energy, however Banks would be okay with dog savvy older kids. As long as the kids don’t have a lot of other kids coming and going in their house as those friends may not know how to properly interact with big active dogs. He will grow leaps bounds with a home that can devote time and energy to his training. He is a love and enjoys snuggles on you or next to you and will belly up when it’s brush time. No accidents in the house since the first day. Banks is getting to be a confident walker on the pinch collar for now. No harness for this boy as he would become a dominant Iditarod puller. He knows how to sit, down, shake and is working on stay which is difficult for a young one. He also does very well in his crate during the day or at night. He is a great pup working on becoming a top dog!

6/23/24-You can “Banks” on this boy giving his all. He is an exuberant and strong young boxer who is busy learning everything to be well adjusted for his fur-ever home. He was re-fostered to a different foster home as his energy was too much for a sweet senior dog to keep up with. There is no doubt Banks is going to be a top dog. He will thrive in a home that can provide consistency with oodles of patience and love. Stay tuned for more as Banks meets his match in a 3 year old “gazelle like” boxer girl. Signing out from a great snuggle on the couch.

6/13/24-Banks was neutered today and had all his shots. He is a good boy & is beginning to hold a stay for me. He is now ready for his new family. Get your application in as he won’t be here long!

6/06/24-Banks arrived at his foster home on Saturday. He is a typical one year old Boxer – full of energy and anxious. Banks is a very strong boy. Over the last few days I have been using a spray bottle to discourage negative behaviors. At this point he is beginning to listen to my direction. He will sit, give paw and is starting to understand stay and backup. He generally will now go into the crate without a fuss. Banks is a barker for attention but does quiet after he realizes he is not getting attention. I have had him outside with me hanging out in my gazebo. He settles down nicely laying down on the rug or alongside my chair. Banks has not attempted to chew on shoes or socks laying on the floor but will play with his toys. He will definitely need a Boxer experienced owner. He will most likely need to be an only dog as introducing him to my dog has not been a good experience as he keeps trying to mount her (though she is spayed) & it turns into scuffles.
06/01/24-Banks is a handsome 1 yr old very friendly, sweet boxer boy. He was found running loose & the animal control officer (ACO) tracked down his owner from his microchip. The story told by the owner’s girlfriend is that Banks jumped out of his owner’s truck when he was several states from home doing a delivery. Sadly his owner didn’t care enough to come get him & never even replied to the ACO or sent Banks’ vet records. Banks is a strong young boxer boy who knows sit and paw but pulls on the leash. He arrived today to his foster home thanks to his transport volunteers. He is going to be neutered & get his shots updated Thursday 6/13 & he will be ready to go home after. More updates soon from his foster home
