MY AGE: approx. 4 yrs WEIGHT: approx. 11.6 lbs

MY STORY: Meet Bama Breeze. He is just visiting for the day so we could see how he does in a house. He is a 4 year old Morkie (Maltese and Yorkshire terrier mix). He has long white hair that is soft and beautiful. He got a little hair trim this morning and sat so nicely for it! He loves to follow me around and if I sit down he will sit right on my lap and not move until I get up. He gives little kisses and snuggles right up. He’s wearing a belly band today just because I didn’t know what to expect but so far I haven’t seen him try to mark anything. He’s nervous about my cats but doesn’t growl or bark at them. And he approached my dog (who is much bigger) very respectfully and with a friendly wagging tail. Bama settled down nicely in a crate when I had some things to do and snuggled up with a stuffed animal and kept quiet the whole time. He is definitely comfortable with the sounds of a house and he is definitely familiar with people food. I don’t normally share human food with dogs but he insisted on a tiny piece of a chip and happily licked my fingers clean! He clearly has experience with couches and will jump up and make himself comfortable! When I took him outside he went potty and walked around the yard nicely with a harness and leash. He was so happy to walk through the leaves and lay in the grass in the sunshine! He is a total sweetheart and would make a great companion.
He would make a great dog for a home with or without another dog!

He was rescued from a home where there were twenty similar dogs. The owner said they had two and this is what happened. They were selling pups until the owner had to stop due to her dementia. We are happy to have been part of their life story.

To adopt the FIRST STEP is to complete an APPLICATION.

Adopters must be 24 years of age. We can not adopt to families with children under the age of six. We also only adopt in WI, IL, and parts of MN. Most of our dogs are strays, so the breed is our best guess.
