Meet Ballie!

Ballie is a loving, five-year-old, sable merle Sheltie with a heart full of affection. Having been with us for just over two weeks, she’s already shown us her sweet, clingy personality—she adores being with her people at all times and can get anxious when left alone. If you’re looking for a companion who will happily cuddle on the couch and be your shadow throughout the day, Ballie is your girl!

At 48 pounds, Ballie doesn’t realize she’s on the bigger side and may jump up for attention, so she’s best suited for a home without small children. While we haven’t observed her around cats or kids, her size and enthusiasm make a quieter, adult-only home ideal. A home with an older, similarly sized dog might be a good fit, but it’s important to note that Ballie can be reactive if another dog is outside her crate or fence. She will need slow, patient introductions to other dogs if there are any in the home.

Though she doesn’t know many commands yet, Ballie responds to her name and is learning. She enjoys toys, especially during zoomie sessions or a little tug-of-war.

Ballie is crate-trained and sleeps there at night, though she will bark if left alone for too long. She’s also house-trained, with no accidents so far, thanks to regular outdoor breaks.

Ballie is a work in progress but full of potential—she just needs a patient, loving home that’s ready to help her continue learning and feeling secure.
