Bailey - adopted Border Collie Mix Minneapolis, MN

Outgoing, curious and ready to make friends, Bailey is a 10-month-old Border Collie with all the breed traits we love. He’s busy, energetic and enthusiastic. Spending lots of time with his people learning, adventuring, and playing are must haves in his forever home.

A herding breed experienced family that will consistently let him use his athletic skills and big brain is at the top of Bailey's Christmas list. He’s smart enough to pursue a college degree and needs a lively blend of mental and physical activity to be his best self. He wants (and needs!) a job to do each day: maybe it’s running with mom or helping with chores on a hobby farm.

“Bales” is new to walking on leash and picking it up quickly with the help of an Easy Walk harness. He’s trying hard to master house manners like keeping four on the floor and not rushing through the door: learning impulse control takes practice! When excited, his herding roots show through nipping and jumping behaviors. Best suited for families with older kids who can consistently reinforce the structure he craves.

Bailey is an only dog in his foster family, happily soaking up all the human attention. A kindred spirit canine sibling in his new family would be fantastic too. We suspect he would herd cats, given the opportunity. Rides nicely in the car. Entertains himself when needed (but would MUCH rather play a game with you!). Relaxes nicely in a crate once enticed to enter with a treat.

Bailey is being fostered in Minneapolis, MN.

As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Bailey's adoption fee is $450 + MN sales tax. He will be neutered on December 18. The cost of this procedure is included in his adoption fee. He is microchipped and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines.

All of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention
