DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Hi there, I'm Baby Tessa. I was rescued by K-9 Lifesavers from an overcrowded shelter in Alabama. The shelter is a scary place for a little puppy like me, but fortunately I have landed a nice foster home while I search for my forever home. Could you be that lucky person? As you can see, I love to be held and carried around like a princess. I am a super sweet and affectionate girl. I love my fellow doggie friends too. I love playing with them, it's my favorite thing! At my young age, I am in my prime for training and socialization. I promise to be the best friend you've ever had, a constant companion, lapdog and super snuggler. I will go quickly, so submit an application today!

Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.

Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.

Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
