Meet Ayluh!!

Ayluh is our longest resident here at the Quincy Animal Shelter. We really can’t understand why, because she’s just about the happiest and most beautiful girl you’ll come across. She is 3 years old, so she’s been here about half of her life. She’s a husky mix.
Ayluh seems to love the shelter. Unlike most dogs in this environment, she doesn’t get anxious, stressed out or depressed in her kennel. She is all smiles and is happy to receive pets and treats when she sees you coming down the hall. She even does sort of a little tap dance with her front paws when she gets excited (our little dancing queen!) She’s very clean and never goes potty in her space. She enjoys independent play out in the yard, but her favorite is when we go out to visit her and throw toys for her to fetch. She could play in the yard all day long, as long as you throw in some belly scratches. Ayluh has never been involved in group play, just one on one with other dogs. Some dogs she hasn’t liked, and others she really has. She seems to be okay with smaller dogs as far as we can tell. Bigger dogs are hit and miss.
came in via owner surrender in September of 2022 with her brother, Oso. They played great together, but Ayluh was definitely the more dominant of the two. She would do well with very slow introductions with most other dogs. Our volunteers love to take Ayluh on walks. She does excellent on a leash and she is such a pleaser, so she stays right with you, constantly looking up for approval. She has been known to walk past unfamiliar dogs and not react at all. She is not a fan of cats though. She will chase cats and whether she would hurt them or not is unknown. We absolutely adore this girl here, but would love to find her a home where she can cuddle up with her family and receive belly scratches anytime she wants. She’d love to be your walking/hiking buddy and join you on any and all adventures. She’s just happy to be invited to the party!
