Meet Ava
Meet Ava!
Ava is approximately 4 months old and closing in on 35 pounds. She’s likely going to be a pretty big girl. We were told that Ava is a Great Pyrenees mix. Obviously with her coloring, underbite and eyes, there’s some mix in there of some various mutts. She does have the thick double coat which would be typical of the Pyrenees.
Ava is still very much puppy. Lots of energy but loves to cuddle. She is being crate trained as her fosters work out of home during the day. She has stopped being crated at night as she has learned to indicate when she needs to be let outside. She has learned the doggy door but still occasionally needs reminders to go out in the evening before bed. Accidents in the home have been minimal. She is good with her high energy 6 year old human, but keep in mind her size and puppy energy won’t be ideal for a home with lots of young children. We are still teaching her not to jump on people but she is making progress.
Leash training is still touch and go but she hasn’t had a lot of exposure until very recently. She should pick up on that easy enough! She’s been fine with cats and dogs(both small and large). She is a chewer right now but is learning the difference between her toys and things she shouldn’t be chewing.
