Meet Aurora

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************

We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.

Aurora is a 2 year old, spayed female, Pitbull mix, 42 pounds. She is in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS and can transport out of State once an adopter is approved.

Aurora and her 7 puppies were found on the streets of Houston. They were taken to the county shelter where they eventually found themselves at risk for euthanasia. A foster home stepped up to save them all! Aurora was very skinny when we first took her into care and has really filled out with proper care. She is a young dog who was probably a mom long before she should have been.

Aurora is a lively dog with a zest for play and a heart full of affection. Her play style with other dogs is exuberant and vigorous, often involving chasing and wrestling with dogs of similar size, typically around 40-60 lbs. She's not one to back down from a rough-and-tumble play session, and she enjoys the company of other energetic pups. She can come on strong in her play and is best suited for other dogs who are balanced in their playstyle. She goes to large play groups and has done really well.

When it comes to her energy level, Aurora is an excited girl. She's always raring to go and loves engaging in activities that keep her moving and entertained.

Aurora's interactions with other dogs are generally friendly and enthusiastic. She wags her tail and eagerly pulls towards them in a welcoming manner.

She's a work in progress when it comes to leash manners but responds well to guidance and training. She likes to pull to greet either people or other dogs. She is crate trained and housebroken.

We have no history with cats or kids. We recommend a home with kids 10 years and older.

Aurora has really great house manners. She loves to cuddle and be around her people. She loves to chew on bones or shred toys.

Aurora's ideal home would be with an active family who can keep up with her energy and provide plenty of opportunities for play and exercise. While she's affectionate and loves cuddling up with her humans, she also needs outlets for her energy levels, such as outdoor activities and playtime with toys.

***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***
