Augustus German Shepherd Dog Lodi, CA

Augustus is an approximately seven month old, neutered male, German Shepherd; Augustus is approximately 50lbs, fully vaccinated, including for rabies, neutered, and microchipped. Augustus, or Gus as he’s affectionately called, was rescued by PALS after he was hit by a vehicle and left with a severe leg break that required his front right leg to be amputated; after we took him on following his surgery, we were able to place him in a foster home where he was able to rest, recover, and rehabilitate in a quiet and loving environment. Gus has shown great resiliency in his recovery, and he’s quickly gotten the hang of walking, and running, around on just three legs. He can take time to warm up to new people, but when he’s feeling comfortable to really opens up and shows off his great personality. He’s playful, affectionate, and very smart! We have slowly been introducing him to some other dogs, and he seems to be fairly comfortable around them; there’s a smaller dog in the home he’s being fostered in that he really wants to play with, but the small dog has no interest in a big playmate! We definitely feel that Gus would do well in, and might even prefer, a home with another playful dog that he can be buds with. Gus has his basic commands down, and walks well on a leash, but we do recommend continued obedience training to help him bond with his new family, and reach his full K-9 potential.
