Athena Catahoula Leopard Dog & Shih Tzu Mix Joliet, IL

Hi my name is Athena I am a 4-month-old Catahoula mix female puppy. My foster mommy says I am a really smart little puppy because I am doing really good with my potty training, and my cage training. I like to get a bath and I'm doing good with getting my nails cut. She says I'm very photogenic and I look really good in pink even though I'm not really digging the whole dress thing. I like to play Chase with my big first siblings and grab the toy out of their mouth and run around the yard I get a real big kick out of that but Mom says that's not nice and I shouldn't do that, but I just act like I don't know any different. She says my family's out there somewhere but sometimes it takes time to find them so I'm here waiting in the meantime playing with toys and running around the backyard, oh and Mom wants me to tell you that I absolutely love to play in the puppy pool so if you have one laying around it would be really great cuz I like to play in there. Our adoption process is usually quick but may take up to two weeks. When you find an animal you are interested in, we ask that you fill out an application on our website, PawsUp4Rescue.org/adopting as a first step so we can determine if your family is a good fit for the animal. If you are, then we will contact you to arrange a time for you and your family to meet the animal so you can decide if it is a good fit. If you currently have dogs, we require them to be present at the meeting to ensure it's a good fit all around. Once compatibility is determined, we move on to the paperwork and finalize the adoption.

If the meet is not a good fit, we will keep your application on file for 6 months and will gladly consider your family for another dog.
