Meet Athena! Once a shelter favorite down South, Athena is now ready to find her forever family in CT! She was so scared and timid when she first got to the shelter but has since opened up and is now only cautious of new people for a few minutes until warming up! She loves when people get down to her level and talk to her. She will start wiggling her whole back end and nudge you to have her head scratched. Athena is a dog, cat, and kid-friendly girl who just wants to cuddle and run around in the backyard! She will need training with how to walk on a leash, as it is still very confusing to her. Therefore, it may be best she have a fenced-in yard to get some exercise in while she learns that on-leash walks are fun! Athena absolutely loves toys and is already excited to see all of the new ones waiting for her in her new home! Playing with other dogs is one of her favorite activities and they help her break out of her shell, so her new family must have a doggy sibling. Wherever she ends up, she will bring her new family lots of love!
