Most of our dogs are strays, so the breed is our best guess.


Please note that the first step is the application. Make sure before filling out an application that you have seriously considered adoption and have talked it over with all family members. You must also have a good idea that you like the dog you have seen on our site, as we do not preapprove applicants for a future dog that may come along.

Note: We do not adopt to families with children under the age of six and stick to this policy, as it is part of our insurance policy. We also only adopt in WI & IL. At times we are able to work with people in the Minneapolis area. Please also only to apply if you are ready to adopt now. We do not hold dogs or keep applications should a dog fit your needs in the future.

MY STORY: Archie has won the hearts of many, including my own, since he arrived in April 2010.  He is approx. 15" to his shoulder and is small-medium size. His coat is soft and doesn't seem to shed much. Archie is just the nicest dog you can imagine, so calm, polite, and friendly. He is a low energy dog who would be happy just to hang out with you. The following is what his foster mom says about him: Archie is a nice boy who is quite a snuggler. Nothing pleases him more than being at my side on the couch. He knows the command "sit" and we are working on "lay down etc. We used a crate when he first came to us but he is such a good boy out of the crate we do not use it anymore. He pays no attention to the other dog in the house.  The neighbor kids came over to see him and he did great with them. The funniest thing is the girl (she's maybe four) looks at me and says "It feels weird in there." I asked her what she meant and apparently when I turned my head for a second, she decided to explore where his missing eye should be with her finger. He let her pull up his "eyelid" and put her finger in his eye socket! If that doesn't give someone an idea of his temperament I don't know what will. :) Archie has been treated for heartworm and is now negative. During his current heartworm test, we found out he has the tickborne disease Erlichia. He has been treated with doxycyclene and is ready for his new home. You can't go wrong with Archibald. He will love you forever!

Please note that the dogs are located in foster homes throughout the state. We do not have a facility and you must be approved prior to meeting a dog.
