Say hello to super-friendly and active Archer!

Archer is an incredibly social and very playful Yellow Lab / Pit mix who's just about to celebrate his 1st birthday. Archer would love nothing more than to find his perfect forever family… that would literally be the best birthday present ever for this sweet, social pup! At 60+ pounds, Archer is just the perfect size for your hiking, walking and adventure buddy.

During his time with his current foster dad, Archer has learned all about good puppy house manners (Archer is very, very house trained and quite pleased with his incredibly polite house manners), and is making pretty awesome progress on polite greeting behavior! When he first arrived as a young and bouncy puppy, Archer was like a big jumpy and mouthy rabbit. After some patient work and lots of love, Archer is quickly becoming a very proper gentleman!

Because he is such an athletic dog, Archer would certainly enjoy a securely fenced (6’ solid wood or similar) back yard to explore when he is not joining his family in fun activities.

Archer is one of those pups who just loves everyone (and this includes other dogs and dog-friendly cats)! Archer currently enjoys doggie day care several times a week, and this has resulted in a very sweet and playful pup who has some amazing social skills when interacting with other pups. He is boisterous and silly with big playful dogs, but can very quickly tone this down when interacting with the very senior Beagle mama and resident feline in his foster home.

Archer is really gentle with slightly older kids (6-7 years old and up) and loves racing around the yard with them or joining his younger humans on exploration walks around the neighborhood.

Archer is very food-motivated and absolutely loves learning new skills in exchange for healthy treats or small bits of kibble. He already knows sit, down, drop it, and “are those your big paws on the counter, young man?”

At his foster home, Archer loves naps on the couch and, after a busy day of hard play at doggie day care, will often taken himself to bed so that he gets the best spot on the pillows!

Archer would love to join an active household that includes another similar sized friendly and playful canine companion. Archer loves his doggie day care friends, car rides and hiking around Westminster (we are still working on some slight pulling, especially if we see a neighborhood bunny or silly squirrel). He is a consummate snuggler and will happily end a day of excitement and activity by joining his humans on the couch for some evening movie watching or late night snacking!

Archer is neutered, up-to-date on all of his vaccinations and takes a monthly heart worm preventative.
