Meet Annie

Meet Annie! Annie is a striking red merle with a lovely fluff who is 8 years young. She is spayed and currently weighs 52 lbs. She’s a bit longer than your average Aussie, which gives her a bit of a streamlined look, but also allows her to reach places you may think cannot be reached. She does have a sensitive stomach but has no known allergies and is up to date on her vaccinations. She currently takes 20mg of Fluoxetine daily.

Annie is a sweet, curious, yet anxious girl. She is a true velcro Aussie, attaching herself to a person in the home, but truly loves all humans in the home, greeting them with her stuffed animal while she tries to talk. Even though she is older, she literally bounds with energy so it would be important that she is a part of an active home. Annie loves going for walks (loves her backpack when we go for hikes!), catching her freebie (she could go all day so you have to know when to stop), marathon training with her person (or just your normal run), going skijoring (she knows her left as HAW and her right as GEE), playing fetch in the water (Loves swimming and running out into the lake to retrieve!) or getting back into agility (we did it for a few years). She loves learning new tricks with treats (we trained with the clicker). She does very well off leash and has great recall.

She is a cuddle bug - always up for pets and gentle scratches. She is extremely loyal and loving to those they care about. She genuinely wants to be good and do good but sometimes loses her way and needs a gentle nudge to get back in line.

She has three leashes, her running/skijoring leash which means she can pull, her muzzle leash and a gentle leader leash. Both the muzzle leash and gentle leader leashes are for normal walks, but sometimes when my wife was walking with the kiddo and two dogs, it's nicer to have more control with the muzzle leash.

While Annie is living with another dog currently- it is not recommended that she lives with another dog or children. Annie has complicated feelings when it comes to living with other dogs - 95% of the time she is fine with other dogs living with her but she has resource guarding tendencies and jealousy which causes her to get into scuffles with other dogs. We highly recommend that Annie be in a single dog household so she can play with her stuffed animals and get all the attention of her new family. We also advise that Annie is NOT in a household with babies/children. Annie does not like her space invaded by little ones who may be curious.
Annie is being fostered with her owner in Minneapolis until she can find a household without kids.

All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com. All dogs have an adoption fee of $400 plus MN sales tax. We pride ourselves on matches that are awesome for both the dog and your family. Aussie Rescue of MN is here for support, advice and as a safety net for our dogs for the rest of their lives.
