Meet Angus
This handsome baby boy was found curled up in a ball on a local street by a friend who called our rescue leader for help. Other than some treatment needed for his very swollen face, our Veterinarian said he seemed very healthy and was pretty "nice & chunky" for a puppy. His beefiness quickly earned him the name Angus! His estimated birthday is early April 2024 and he looks like a German Shepherd to us.
Angus healed from the swelling very quickly and has been having a blast playing with the 3 dogs in his foster home. His foster Mom said he is super sweet, follows her around, and sits next to her feet when she's in the kitchen. Then, he follows her to the couch to give her kisses when she sits down. He also is the absolute best hugger in the world and really loves to give full body hugs to his foster Dad. When he looks at you, he makes you feel like you're the only person in the world. We tell him he's the biggest thief because he will steal your heart and run with it!
His foster parents agree that he's super happy and always acts goofy, especially when being sneaky. His current hobbies are finding the most perfect stick outside to chew on and emptying the toy bucket so the house looks very decorated. His favorite toys are anything he can carry and whip around like a kong with a rope attached. His ears are the best - sometimes one up / one down and sometimes both relaxed down like little Doritos.
He's young, so he's working on potty training and has been doing a good job learning from the other dogs in the house by sitting by the back door when he has to go. He is already doing well when we practice up and down the driveway for his leash training and exercise. He's very calm in the car and will just sit or lay down. He's rambunctious but balances nicely with chill time. He's pretty worn out from playing all day which makes him a great napper, eater and bedtime sleeper in his kennel bedroom.
We believe he'd flourish in a family with an energetic doggie playmate. He does seem to get a kick out of sprinting away from and back to his senior foster brothers. They wait, anticipating his return, as he laps the house playing the pounce game.
When he wakes up, he is ready for play and love! So, if you need a pup in your life who is literally up for anything, Angus just might be your boy!
